2017-2018 School Year for Kansas Reading Roadmap

KRR 2017-2018 Fast Facts:

  • KRR reached 56 schools and 4 Boys & Girls Clubs in 2017-2018 SY from more than 35 school districts. The average rate of Free and Reduced Meal receivers in these school districts was above 60%

  • More than 10,500 students were served indirectly in the KRR-contracted school districts

  • KRR reached more than 5,500 students to join its afterschool and summer programs

  • More than 1,300 part- and full-time jobs have been created in school districts where the majority of students are Free and Reduced Meal receivers

  • More than 60,000 meals, and about 340,000 servings of healthy snacks, were provided

  • More than 1,500 parents and guardians were educated about their children’s reading proficiency and the life-long importance of its further advancement
